The Argument of Consciousness, Truth and the Eternal
These three aspects of life coincide, at least in my thinking, and are vital to the human experience. For example, consciousness [which cannot be explained] can perceive both the truth and the eternal concept.
Consciousness
We experience the universe as intelligible. This intelligibility means that the universe is graspable by intelligence.
Either this intelligible universe and the finite minds so well suited to grasp it are the products of intelligence, or both intelligibility and intelligence are the products of blind chance.
Not blind chance.
Therefore this intelligible universe and the finite minds so well suited to grasp it are the products of intelligence.
Truth
Our limited minds can discover eternal truths about being.
Truth properly resides in a mind.
But the human mind is not eternal.
Therefore there must exist an eternal mind in which these truths reside.
Eternity
Nothing in our universe has shown to be Eternal
We have an idea of the eternal
Therefore, something must be eternal [This reasoning is not fully fleshed out yet but it would cycle through the argument of contigency].
In another article, I speak about the argument for the Idea of God made famous by Rene Descartes. The above argument also plays directly into the ontological argument for God. Each one playing of each other to develop and almost undeniable method of God's existence.
